Needy Streamer Overload is a game that centers on Ame-chan, an aspiring streamer known as "K-Angel," and her partner/producer, P-Chan. Together, they aim to reach one million subscribers within a month. Using a retro Windows-style interface, P-Chan chooses daily activities for Ame to generate stream ideas. Each activity impacts three stats—stress, affection, and mental darkness—in various ways, affecting Ame's path to fame.
Ame-chan streams exclusively at night, with the player acting as a content moderator during her live sessions. The player removes inappropriate comments and can highlight certain messages for Ame to respond to. Streaming is the primary method to grow her follower count, which is the game's key focus and goal.
After each activity or stream, Ame updates her "Tweeter" accounts: her public K-Angel account and her private one, where she shares her true feelings. Each in-game day is divided into three phases—Dusk, Night, and Tomorrow—with activities taking up one or two phases. The game’s 27 possible endings are directly shaped by the player’s management of Ame’s stats.
